Artist Statement | Camille Salvador

My work is perception displayed.

I have synesthesia, I see people and places as color, and everything I create is a direct translation of that experience.

My Return to Basics series was a deliberate stripping away of everything unnecessary, reducing to primary colors and organic shapes until only instinct remained.

That simplicity became the foundation for my synesthesia works, where the same visual language is used to paint what I literally perceive in a person.

Raw, intuitive and entirely unrepeatable.
